ATYRAU, KAZAKHSTAN – To celebrate a decade of continuous service since 2016, Veritas Marine held a special commemorative ceremony to honor the dedication and achievements of its OSR team in August of this year.

During the event, management presented awards and distributed custom company merchandise to crew members, recognizing their exceptional safety record and unwavering commitment to environmental protection.

The NCOC OSR fleet, comprising over 30 specialized units deployed across the North Caspian Project area, serves as a crucial first line of defense in the event of an oil spill. Featuring ultra-shallow draft capabilities, these vessels are uniquely designed to navigate and protect the highly sensitive waters, shorelines, and reed beds of the northern Caspian Sea. Over the last decade Veritas Marine OSR team has managed this fleet safely with an exemplary efficacy record over the past ten years, which was further recognised by a contract renewal earlier this year. 

Marat Salmenov, Director of Veritas Marine, expressed his enthusiasm during the celebrations: “The ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the immense effort our team has put in over the years to safely and effectively operate this critical fleet."

Salmenov further highlighted the importance of the team's local roots: "Being 100% Kazakhstani, our specialized crews and management team are proud stakehoders in our nation's natural resources. We all look forward to continuing in this role to assure environmental sustainability in this precious region.”

Established in 2002, Veritas Marine has built a strong reputation providing vessels for charter and comprehensive marine services in the Caspian Sea, catering primarily to the oil and gas and construction sectors.

The North Caspian Project represents the first major offshore oil and gas development in Kazakhstan, encompassing the Kashagan, Kairan, and Aktoty fields.
