Safeguarding the Caspian: Veritas Marine extends Oil Spill Response role
Veritas Marine is pleased to have secured a further five years of managing the Oil Spill Response (OSR) fleet of North Caspian Operating Company N.V. (NCOC). The fleet, consisting of over 30 units located around the North Caspian Project area, are a necessary and important first line of control in the event of an oil spill. Being ultra-shallow draft, they have a special a role in protecting the sensistive sea, shorelines and reed beds of the north Caspian. Veritas Marine has been managing the OSR fleet since 2016 and this represents further validation of the safe and exemplary operational capability of the OSR team.
Marat Salmenov, Veritas Marine's Director was especially excited by the news, stating, "We are proud to continue delivering our fleet management services to NCOC. It has taken a great deal of effort on our part over the past ten years to efficiently and safely operate the OSR fleet. To be an integral part of such an important stewardship role alongside NCOC is uniquely satisfying. Our specialised crews are not only trained and experienced in all aspects of OSR fleet operations, but they are also 100% Kazakhstani. As such, they're proud stakeholders in protecting the country's natural resources. Their preparedness and professionalism in responding to oil spills for the next five years will assure environmental sustainability in this precious region."
Established in 2002, Veritas Marine provides vessels for charter and other marine services in the Caspian Sea, notably in the oil & gas and construction sectors.
