Roundtable: Veritas Marine facilitate interactive NCOC Safety Forum

In late August, NCOC hosted the Marine Safety Forum in Aktau with a goal to strengthen collaboration and share experiences on safety and compliance. The event brought together marine contractors, Business Partners and internal marine teams.

As one of NCOC's leading marine Business Partners, Veritas Marine was invited to facilitate the forum, ably executed by Marat Salmenov and Aizhan Karabassova. In addition to the overall facilitation, Veritas Marine developed and guided participants on an interactive incident simulation which focussed on a case where compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) system in a shipyard wasn't fully adhered to and responses to the incident.

"We were pleased to be given the opportunity to promote best-practice principles of PTW and emergency preparedness in a challenging way, and saw that the attendees were actively engaging with the exercise in a thoughtful and decisive manner," described QHSE Adviser, Aizhan Karabassova.

As the first major offshore oil and gas development in Kazakhstan, NCOC takes pride in its marine operations, which are vital to ensuring safe and reliable logistics in the North Caspian Sea. The Marine Safety Forum served as a strong reminder of the critical importance of safety in such a challenging environment and reinforced the value of partnership with our Business Partners to undertake any future projects together.

NCOC is one of Veritas Marine's major clients and the Operator of the North Caspian Project. The North Caspian Project is the first major offshore oil and gas development in Kazakhstan. It covers three fields: Kashagan, Kairan and Aktoty.

Established in 2002, Veritas Marine provides vessels for charter and other marine services in the Caspian Sea, notably in the oil & gas and construction sectors.
