Doubling Down: 2 SEPs secured for 2 year contract
Veritas Marine will continue their provision of Self Elevating Platforms in Kazakhstan for a further two years with the extension of their multi-unit contract with North Caspian Operating Company N.V. Veritas Pearl is configured for diving and seabed levelling tasks in the North Caspian Project area and around NCOC assets. In preparation for the scope which commenced in 2021, Veritas Marine reconfigured the vessel to include Thrustmaster positioning equipment, a 17-man H2S Temporary Refuge, additional power generation, upgraded accommodation and a workboat. "Diving inspections and interventions, as well as seabed levelling, are important parts of the maintenance of NCOC production and we are proud the Veritas Pearl can participate in a such an interesting role", Veritas Marine's Director Marat Salmenov explained.
C-728 is a specialised unit, equipped for year-round operations in the north Caspian Sea, including ice-class notation. With shallow draft, variable platform height and wooden decking she will primarily be deployed on Roll-On Roll-Off (RORO) of project cargoes. She has thus far had a permanent role offshore at Kashagan.
Marat Salmenov, Veritas Marine's Director was optimistic about the contract renweal, "It has taken a great deal of effort on our part to provide the units and services over the past three years, and we are proud that this has been recognised by NCOC in extending our services for another two years. Our crews deserve a special mention for their expertise and dedication in achieving safe and productive campaigns of operations for our charterer."
Videos of the assembly of the C-728 can be seen at the Veritas Marine YouTube channel.
