Dive Right In: SEP Veritas Pearl in the spotlight on NCOC diving
Veritas Pearl's role as a dive support vessel was highlighted on NCOC's social media last month. In the press release NCOC noted that diving is a unique profession and diving support has a special role in the North Caspian Project. All of the project diving is executed from the Veritas Pearl, owned and operated by Veritas Marine.
The main tasks of the dive teams on board are:
- inspection of seabed equipment;
- inspection and repair of marine vessels;
- underwater construction, installation work and welding.
Director Marat Salmenov explained further, "the press release neatly shows how the Veritas Pearl is ideally suited for this scope with on board accommodation and welfare facilities, ample deckspace for diving equipment, very low freeboard for easy access to the water, and positioning thrusters and spud legs to hold position."
Established in 2002, Veritas Marine provides vessels for charter and other marine services in the Caspian Sea, notably in the oil & gas and construction sectors.
The North Caspian Project is the first major offshore oil and gas development in Kazakhstan. It covers three fields: Kashagan, Kairan and Aktoty.
