Practice Makes Perfect: Veritas Marine involved in emergency response drill

Veritas Marine have played a role in the execution of a medical evacuation drill under the overall coordination of NCOC. The drill involved transfer of a dummy Injured Person (IP) from offshore facilities, by project hovercraft to NCOSRB (better known as Damba), and onward by ambulance to medical facilities in Atyrau. As the primary marine presence at Damba, Veritas Marine was involved in ensuring that the IP arrived at shore and was transferred on to the care of shoreside paramedics in a safe and expedient manner.

Veritas Marine's On-Site Commander for the drill, Marat Salmenov, explained, "Here at Damba, we are engaged as responders to all kinds of emergencies situations, from responding to oil spills to calamities endangering human life. As such, we are responsible to have not only have planned emergency actions, to have run drills to test those plans, and to have learned lessons and improved the response process and overall project response capabilities. Of course, there's many actors involved in these activities, and we are proud to be a part of the wider team alongside NCOC and other responders."
