Jacked Up: C-728 delivered to Charterer

Veritas Marine have expanded their fleet of Self Elevating Platforms in Kazakhstan with the addition of the C-728, a Combifloat C7 class unit. The modular barge was transported by Blue Water Shipping overland from UAE and Netherlands by truck and ferry, and assembly was completed in January 2023 in the Port of Bautino, Kazakhstan.

Immediately, she was placed under charter with North Caspian Operating Company N.V. (NCOC) for deployment in the North Caspian Project as well as in Bautino. The C-728 is a specialised unit, equipped for year-round operations in the north Caspian Sea, including ice-class notation. With shallow draft, variable platform height and wooden decking she will primarily be deployed on Roll-On Roll-Off (RORO) of project cargoes.

Marat Salmenov, Veritas Marine's Director was optimistic about the development, stating, "We are proud to add the C-728 to our fleet. It has taken a great deal of effort on our part and on the part of Combifloat and Blue Water Shipping to deliver her during the winter months. Our crews have received specialised training on her operation from Combifloat and we wish them and the vessel well on what we expect to be safe and productive campaign of operations for our charterer."

Videos of the assembly of the C-728 can be seen at the Veritas Marine YouTube channel.
